Within hours of its official reveal, artwork featuring 22 characters seemingly playable in Street Fighter 6 appeared online. Bison as a motivator, she whiles away her time in a gloomy haze. Things changed in June during Sony’s State of Play when Capcom unleashed a whole plethora of information about Street Fighter 6, and they haven’t slowed down since. As the year progresses we’re more than likely in for more fighter reveals, and possibly some other surprises. VOICE: Jessica Straus THEME: coming soon This sadistic thrillseeker enjoys the strife and suffering of others, taking immense joy in obliterating her foes. The game was initially revealed this past February with little more than a name and a brief teaser trailer. Her outfit has also been slightly altered to be more in line with the Street Fighter 6 aesthetic, but she still retains that classic smug Juri look. Her Korean fighting style is the same, with some tweaks allowing her to chain combo at a much faster pace. The returning fighter, Juri, has become a fan favorite since her debut in Super Street Fighter IV, at the time a brand new fighter in the series. Hailing from Korea, and riding into town like a bat outta hell, Juri Han will be bringing her wild, unpredictable, and dangerous nature to SF6, bedecked in awesome new gear and rocking something. This gives her the ability to run at extreme speed, which also gives her the benefit of jumping from wall to wall. Her fighting style is that of Ninjutsu, one that definitely resembles Guy’s fighting style from both the Final Fight and Street Fighter franchises. In Street Fighter 6, Juri specialises in getting up close and personal with opponents, with her kicks doing most of the work. Newcomer Kimberly comes from the US and is outfitted with a complete color palette due to her love of the 1980s. "Why is Juri sitting on the tire?" "I think it's cool"Īlso, Kimberly movement is matching with BGM #SF6, the spunky new ninja, and Juri, the sadistic thrill-seeker, join #StreetFighter6 when it arrives in 2023! Spray cans, a portable cassette player, and motorcyles have never looked more fresh. Fresh off the streets of Evo 2022, two more characters have been announced for Street Fighter 6, the next evolution of the Street Fighter franchise, launching in 2023. You can see Juri's SF6 character select screen animation below courtesy of HiFight. Street Fighter 6 is due out sometime in 2023. Ryu, Chun-Li, Jamie, Luke, Guile, Kimberly, and Juri are all set to be playable in Capcom's upcoming title. She's also got a bit of a Spider-Man thing going on here with this pose, which is fitting considering her love of spiders.Īs it stands right now, seven different characters have been revealed for Street Fighter 6. The slight shifts she makes with her legs to stay atop the tire look awesome, and though it's subtle, it is a nice touch. With Juri being in a squatting position, we can actually see her balancing herself on top of the tire all while being lost in her phone. As odd as it is, Juri's animation there actually is quite cool. That still doesn't quite explain the character select screen pose, though, as that tire is clearly way too large for her bike.īut, hey! If the reason is indeed "it would be cool," then I can live with that. I mean, Juri does ride a motorcycle, and she could be seen riding one in her Street Fighter 6 reveal trailer. However, Juri and Abigail don't have any connections that we know of, at least not in previous Street Fighter games, so who knows? The logical tie we can make is that the tire is large and could be a reference to Abigail, whose scrapyard is confirmed to be a location in Street Fighter 6. In terms of what a tire has to do with Juri, though, that remains unclear to me (and seemingly the rest of the community). When hovering over her on the character select screen the classic street fighter can be seen sitting on some luggage, which is a direct reference to an old piece of official Street Fighter artwork. Now, we do see something similar with Chun-Li in Street Fighter 6. that's it! That's the explanation behind Juri's character select screen pose. "I thought it'd be cool," Nakayama explained (thanks to the translation of our very own Nick "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor). While it's possible that this still might be the case, the actual reason why Juri is crouching on a tire is much simpler than that, according to Nakayama. It's clear that Capcom is injecting all kinds of references to other Street Fighter and Final Fight titles into Street Fighter 6, and one might think that the tire is alluding to another fighter or game.
